    Hi guys,

I just finished listening to the Squeeze episode. Always cool to see philes create something new for the fans. I quite like the concept of your show. I think it’s well balanced between episode and character discussion, news and other items.

I do have some things that bother me, especially when it comes to Shadow’s “review”, ’cause in fact I feel like it’s more of a recap than a review. A review should offer personal opinion or insight, while Shadow simply goes over the scenes in a pretty dry way. Also, it might be a good idea to find other ways than “Mulder says” and “Scully says” to discuss or highlight the dialogue.

Even though I’m not a shipper I think the Chemistry Lab is what differentiates you guys from the other X-Files podcasts out there. Good stuff! That’s a keeper for sure!

Other things I really enjoy: the updates on X-Files related news and the use of music on the show. I wouln’t mind if you went into the score and other music some more on the show.

I know you’re just getting started so I thought I’d offer some ideas to improve what could end up being a really good podcast.

    Take care!

Here’s my response to all the issues:

      Me:
      Thanks

      Me:

I’ve always said I want to ‘re-live’ the episodes. Call it what you want, I call it a review.

      I should offer personal insight?

I have Agent Shadows Field Report near the end of the show for that – not to mention that I do offer insight during the review.

I ‘go over the scenes in a pretty dry way’?

Correct, I am dry, but I was hoping that would fit the style of the podcast.
It’s an X-Files podcast and we have Agent Chelsea providing the ‘Scully’ role, Agent Summer covering more of the Reyes angle,
Agent Stone providing a ‘Lone Gunmen’ approach and my dry delivery… well, doesn’t that describe Mulder to a ‘T’?
He’s referred to as ‘The man, The myth, The monotone’, remember?
I’m not comparing myself to him but you brought up me having a dry delivery… I just agree.

      Me:
Mulder says: “That’s just how I do it.”

      Me:
Chelsea is great! And what a bonus it is for us to have a Criminal Justice major giving us investigation procedure insight on the actual X-Files cases!

      Milagrophile:

      Me:
The girls do a lot of research to make that segment great and Stone gives us background info in his segment which is sometimes ‘unknown news’ – I love it!

On the Music: Here’s one thing that clearly makes us special and different than all the other podcasts.
We are the ONLY podcast in existence [as far as I know] that uses Mark Snows NON-soundtrack music from each episode as background music for the show.
There’s only 1 other X-Files podcast out there that even uses any music in the background, and even that show only uses the soundtrack music,
plus music from other TV shows, NOT the NON-soundtrack music from the episodes.

We are completely unique in that aspect, and changing that would be a clear step backwards.

      Me:
I think it is a really good podcast already.

  2. Thanks for the feedback, milagrophile! You’re right, we are just starting and always looking for ways to make the podcast better. It really helps to know what our listeners like and what we can do to make it better. Hope you’ll continue to let us know your thoughts on the show as we get more episodes together.
